This method has had many advances over the years. Researchers have published findings that noted that their ¡°stem cell method provide[d] an unlimited source of cells from the patient for transplantation and isn't' limited by the availability of existing hair follicles.¡±

The type of human cell that these researchers are deprived of is the pluripotent stem cells. These cells are taken from any tissue and can be genetically modified. The cells behave like embryonic stem cells which make them pluripotent ¨C meaning the ability to form any adult cell types.
